David O'Meara is a trainer who continues to make waves towards the top of his profession and he can take further big Saturday honours tomorrow in the Victoria Cup at Ascot.

It's a weekend that features Classic Trials that will dominate more column inches and carry much more importance but this is the big betting heat of the weekend with bookmakers going 12/1 the field for the seven-furlong contest.

It's clearly wide open but David O'Meara sends out the four-year-old Highland Acclaim, who will be making his seasonal bow, like many of his rivals. However, he is one that could be open to improvement.

Riddehzn by the talented Sam James, Highland Acclaim was a winner over six furlongs at Ascot last season but looks an individual that will relish the step up in trip and can be a big player here at 14/1.

Of course, the Epsom Trials continue this weekend and at Lingfield it will be real intriguing to see how the Coolmore colts clash in the Derby Trial as John Gosden's Christophermarlowe takes on Aidan O'Brien's Kilimanjaro.

Both carry the same colours as the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas winners for Michael Tabor, and after combining for Chester Vase glory yesterday, Ryan Moore again teams up with O'Brien on the Dundalk winner but it's the unbeaten Christophermarlowe (currently 14/1 for the Derby) who gets the pick for tomorrow's assignment and to keep his unbeaten record intact.

O'Brien's Wedding Vow could give the form of 1,000 Guineas winner Legatissimo a further boost as Wedding Vow was second behind her at Gowran Park and she should take a bit of beating in the Oaks Trial at Lingfield tomorrow afternoon, again with Ryan Moore doing the steering.

Looking ahead to Leopardstown on Sunday and the Derrinstown Derby Trial has lost a major player with Dermot Weld opting to go elsewhere with Zawraq which leaves the door wide open for John F Kennedy to return to winning ways.

But he'll be taking on Success Days again and he might be worth taking siding with again for Ken Condon.

Success Days was extremely impressive when making all in the Ballysax and while it would be no surprise to see John F Kennedy stepping up dramatically on their last meeting, maybe on the heavy ground Success Days can just take advantage once again with Condon's horses in flying form at the moment.
