FOLLOWERS of jump racing will be keen not to miss the Champion Hunters' Chase at Stratford tomorrow evening which has attracted three Irish runners including Salsify for the Sweeney family in Cork.

Rodger Sweeney's Salsify was deemed a somewhat fortuitous winner at the Cheltenham Festival when Oscar Delta ducked and unseated Jane Mangan with the race at their mercy, but Salsify benefited and won the Champion Foxhunters at Cheltenham for a second year.

There was no doubt over Salsify's Punchestown triumph as he was a 35-length victor in their Champion Hunters Chase and now he returns to Stratford tomorrow in a bid to win this race for a second consecutive season.

Declan McNamara sends over Mossey Joe who will prove an intriguing opponent for Salsify, while Liam Lennon's Tammy Hill has form beating Salsify earlier in the season. The 3m4f contest is due off at 8.30pm.
