Saeed bin Suroor has been fined £1,000 and Sky Hunter disqualified from first place in the Doonside Cup at Ayr in September after the horse tested positive for a prohibited substance.

A hearing of the British Horseracing Authority disciplinary panel found that a urine sample taken from Sky Hunter after the race contained omeprazole, which is used to prevent and treat gastric ulceration in horses and is a prohibited substance on raceday.

A 'B' sample requested by the Godolphin trainer confirmed the original finding.

The panel was satisfied that the source of the substance was the daily administration of peptizole, containing omeprazole, given on veterinary advice between August 1 and September 14.
