Rowlestone ready to rock

Rowlestone Lass may not be the most resolute in a battle but she is certainly in form and worth a chance in the 32Red Handicap at Wolverhampton.

Richard Price's charge had a frustrating run of six second places on the bounce through the summer, before finally shedding her maiden tag at Dunstall Park at the end of October.

She certainly bagged her first win in style, shooting six lengths clear to win what was admittedly only an average event in comfortable fashion.

That win left the handicapper in a bit a of quandary as she had previously struggled to get her head in front, although he eventually opted to hike Rowlestone Lass by 7lb in the ratings.

The rise looked harsh until the four-year-old turned in a creditable third on her revised mark of 64 at this track in mid-November, travelling well before perhaps just being outbattled by a couple of rivals who just wanted it a bit more. She remains in fine heart, though, and if things go her way, a further 2lb on her back might not be enough to stop her.

Persona Grata demonstrated some ability when making a winning bow at Wolverhampton and can follow up in the Download The Coral App AW "Hands And Heels" Apprentice Series Handicap.

She beat a decent yardstick in Kicking The Can by just a neck after showing a nice turn of speed to make up plenty of ground in the straight.

The form of that win is nothing special, but she could only beat what was put in front of her and the handicapper has given her a chance with an initial mark of 70.

Spinaminnie looks a likely type in the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Stakes after just getting edged into third at Kempton, while Quaintrelle was similarly knocking on the door at that track last time and can be followed in the Ladbrokes Maiden Stakes.

Prince Blackthorn found a race-fit rival too good at Sedgefield on his seasonal bow but compensation awaits in the She Exports Ltd Handicap Chase on his return to the County Durham venue.

Given he is a previous course winner, it is easy to see why William Amos has selected this as his charge's next target.
