ROI DU MEE (pictured) repeated his victory of two years ago in the At The Races Chase at Tramore.

The finish was fought out by the last two winners of the race as Marito, placed in Grade One company for Willie Mullins and now with Colin McBratney, gave him most to do but had to give best in the straight.

Marito had won a point-to-point on his comeback from injury and was sent off favourite to repeat his win of 12 months ago yet the heavy rain made the ground a real test.

Roi Du Mee, ridden by Kevin Sexton, raced in a handy position and the 5-1 chance always looked under control.

The pair had it to themselves from some way out as they left Aupcharlie and Rathlin behind with half a mile to run but Roi Du Mee, who has raced against the likes of Don Cossack and Champagne Fever this season, found the drop in class to his liking and won by eight lengths.

Willie Mullins' Turban fell, as did Rathlin at the last.

Joey Elliott, brother of winning trainer, Gordon, said: "He loves being out in front and he loves that soft ground.

"He is limited as to what he can go for, but Gordon will decide.

"He might go for another Listed chase somewhere. He is paying his way and he enjoyed getting his own way in front."
