Principal to play A star role

PRINCIPAL ROLE stands out by some way in the Betfred Goals Galore EBF "Sir Percy" Gillies Fillies' Stakes at Doncaster and can round her season off in style.

Henry Cecil's charge has enjoyed a most productive year, winning three times at this Listed level and also finishing third to esteemed stablemate Midday in the Nassau at Glorious Goodwood.

Her win at the start of this month was an emphatic one despite the narrow margin and it is hard to envisage defeat at a track which will be to her liking.

It is hard to be too pedantic about the outcome of the Betfred November Handicap, but Zuider Zee looks certain to get involved at the business end for John Gosden and Robert Havlin, who have teamed up to great effect over the last couple of weeks.

A course-and-distance winner last year, the four-year-old rarely runs a bad race, which means he does not enjoy a great deal of leniency from the handicapper.

But he has nevertheless shown himself to be well capable of being competitive from this sort of mark, and his effort a couple of runs ago when a close third in the Old Borough Cup was a fine one.

Gosden is never far away when he runs one in a race like this and conditions should suit.

Entitled looks the one to be with in the Betfred The Bonus King Handicap.

Not disgraced when mid-division behind the smart Hoof It at York in July over six furlongs, Michael Stoute's filly was off the track until reappearing at Newbury last month.

The lack of a recent run looked to cost her, as she was just run out of it close to home by Valencha.

Libranno has kept his form exceptionally well all season and on anything like his best should take all the beating in the Betfred 1350 Shops Nationwide Wentworth Stakes.

Victor Dartnall has his string in great nick and the Devon trainer should go close at Sandown with Roudoudou Ville in the Play Rainbow Riches At bluesq.com Handicap Chase.

The six-year-old was progressive last season, rising some 30lb in the weights.

The Minack remains lightly raced and fairly unexposed so there is every hope for a big run in the Badger Ales Trophy at Wincanton.

And Den Of Iniquity is worth a glance in the market ahead of the Persimmon Homes Handicap Chase at Kelso.
