Jim Bolger has had a change of heart and could now let 2,000 Guineas candidate Parish Hall have a run in a Leopardstown trial before his trip to Newmarket.
The master of Coolcullen had initially planned to send his Dewhurst Stakes winner straight to the Flat season’s first Classic without a prep run, but he could now appear for the Guineas Trial at Leopardstown on April 15.
“He’s very well, I’m very happy with him and he’s done well. He’s taking it all in his stride,” Bolger said. “I had said earlier, maybe about 10 days ago, that I wouldn’t run him before Newmarket.
“But with the ground drying up, I just might let him run at Leopardstown.”
Godolphin pair skip 1,000 Guineas prep
Godolphin expect to send both Lyric Of Light and Discourse for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas without the benefit of a prep run.
The pair both feature highly on the ante-post lists, particularly as stablemate Gamilati is currently sidelined after ankle surgery.
Lyric Of Light was unbeaten in three starts for Mahmood Al Zarooni, including the Group Two May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and Group One Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on her final two outings.
Discourse was limited to just two outings last term as a problem kept her off the track after her Sweet Solera Stakes win at Newmarket in August.
Discourse is a general 7/1 chance for the Guineas while Lyric Of Light is as long as 12/1 with some firms.
