Leitir Mor nicks win by a neck

LEITIR MOR was ultra-game under pressure to get up in the shadow of the post to land the Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown.

The filly Lily's Angel made a brave bid from the front and looked like she would just hang on. However, Kevin Manning was in never-say-die mood on Leitir Mor (13-2), who got the verdict by a neck.

Jim Bolger's charge is now set to join stablemate Dawn Approach in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Bolger said: "I asked Kevin to give him a blowout for Tuesday! Seven furlongs or a mile is his trip. I hope he gets a mile."

Bolger earlier had a potentially nice colt score as Club Wexford impressed in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden.
