AS of yesterday evening, Davy Condon was waiting to be discharged from Cork University Hospital as he continue to make progress following his heavy fall at the local track on Sunday.
Condon fractured three vertebrae when he came to grief on Cheltenham winner Flaxen Flare at the second-last flight in the Online Ticket Sales At corkracecourse.ie Hurdle at the Mallow venue.
He was fitted with a brace for his injured back on Tuesday and is likely to have it on for three months.
"I've spoken to Davy and the plan is to let him (go) home soon," said Dr Adrian McGoldrick, senior medical officer for the Irish Turf Club.
"He's just waiting for the doctors to come round.
"It may more likely be Thursday, but everything appears to be fine to my knowledge.
"He's in a brace now and he'll go home in that.
"It will be reviewed at Cork in two weeks' time and we'll take it from there."
