Henry keeping his options open while Sizing up Light

As September begins to draw to a close, plans begin to emerge for some of the better jump horses around, and week by week they can be expected to re-emerge ahead of their big spring targets.

Even yesterday at Fairyhouse the Jessica Harrington-trained Steps To Freedom made a winning debut over hurdles and, in doing so, earned a 20/1 quote from Boylesports for the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham in March.

Next week Gowran Park stages a two-day all jump meeting and the feature of that fixture will be the PricewaterhouseCoopers Champion Chase, in which Sizing Europe and Rubi Light are set to do battle.

Sizing Europe was at his very best to win the Champion Chase at Cheltenham last season and this term he has his option open as to whether to go back for the Champion Chase or step up to go down the Gold Cup route.

De Bromhead -- who was also on the mark at Fairyhouse -- said yesterday: "He's a very adaptable horse. We'll keep all our options open.

"We'll start in Gowran, see how we get on there and then progress from there. He seems in good form and he's schooling well."
