LOOKING back at the weekend action at the Curragh and I thought it was fitting that it would be John Oxx who sent out the first stakes winner sired by the legendary racehorse Sea The Stars and on a day that five years previously the Currabeg trainer had won the Beresford Stakes with the colt.
Christopher Tsui's involvement and association with the Oxx team has certainly paid dividends.
It is clear Michael Kinane still has a very hands-on roll with both Oxx and Tsui and he got a great kick out of My Titania winning the CL Weld Park Stakes.
Aside from the romantic connection of Oxx and his association with Sea The Stars the racehorse and now Sea The Stars as a sire, following on from the recent developments of the Aga Khan downscaling his involvement at Currabeg, it was great to see the trainer bounce back with a filly who could be exciting in her Classic campaign next year.
Oxx has had a cruel season in terms of viruses and setbacks as we have highlighted already on these pages, but it looks like he is going to end it on a much better note with him also stating that he hopes to get some nice two-year-olds out before the season end.
Comments he made on looking ahead to a more fruitful campaign next summer were nothing but positive and as he said himself, he certainly won't be going anywhere.
