Geraghty is the man for JP

Barry Geraghty is the man to become AP McCoy's replacement as retained rider to leading owner JP McManus.

Speculation has been rife in racing circles ever since McCoy announced his retirement earlier in the year, with Mark Walsh, Paul Townend, Davy Russell and Noel Fehily all linked with the job at different stages.

Geraghty has has often been McManus' go-to-jockey on big occasions, most notably when he rode and won on Jezki in the 2014 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Gold Cup-winning jockey Nico De Boinville has been installed as favourite to replace Geraghty at Nicky Henderson's operation.
