GAA stars up for Charity Race at Naas

Naas stage a full National Hunt card on Monday with some good jumping action to look forward to.

Highly rated horses such as First Lieutenant, Rathlin and Hidden Cyclone hold entries for the Grade Three Popular Square Chase, while there are a number of interesting inclusions in the beginners chase including, Buckers Bridge, Carlingford Lough, Dylan Ross, He's Our Man and Mount Benbullen with declarations confirmed in the morning for those races.

As well as the quality on the track, there is set to be a brilliant atmosphere off it as well as the whole day is a Kildare GAA-themed afternoon, which includes a Charity Race to conclude the card.

Former Kildare footballers, Eddie McCormack and Sos Dowling will join the Evening Herald's Niall Cronin riding in the race, while some current panellists on the Kildare team will take part in a 5km race (on foot) with some inter-county stars from around the country.

The first race is due off at 12.55.
