G Force leaves Abbaye Power with star Sole

G Force is unlikely to run in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp on Sunday, with connections instead likely to wait a fortnight for Champions Day at Ascot.

Although the Haydock Sprint Cup winner was still in the hat at the latest forfeit stage, the David O'Meara-trained sprinter is likely to remain over six furlongs for the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes on October 18.

Nick Bradley, spokesman for owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "The Abbaye can be a difficult race, with traffic problems, so at Ascot we are likely to get a fair battle."

G Force had been the general second favourite for the Abbaye following a rash of defections which included Tiggy Wiggy, Music Master and Muthmir. Irish superstar Sole Power is the headline act from 22 confirmations for the Group One over five furlongs.

Defending champion Maarek is in the field for Evanna McCutcheon along with familiar names through the season like Take Cover, Pearl Secret, Hot Streak and Moviesta.
