Duntle team consider plans

CONNECTIONS of Duntle are to discuss future plans for the filly after she was disqualified from first place in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

THE David Wachman-trained filly was demoted to second place in the Group One over a mile after being first past the post.

Duntle was adjudged by the local stewards to have caused interference and the race was awarded to Henry Cecil's Chachamaidee, who had been beaten a short head.

When asked if an appeal against the decision was likely, Alan Cooper, racing manager to owners the Niarchos Family, said: "I've nothing to say about that at the moment."

Even so Cooper was delighted by Duntle's display in her first race at the top level.

"She put up a very good performance. We will sit down and be guided by David Wachman as to where we go next," he said.
