Edgar Balthazar has failed to meet expectations so far this term but he can finally get off the mark for 2015 in the Collect totepool Winnings At Betfred Shops Handicap.
Keith Dalgleish's runner looked a promising type when winning at Hamilton on his racecourse bow last July but he was then off the track until turning up in a Pontefract handicap in April.
That unplaced outing followed by another couple of similarly lacklustre efforts hardly inspires confidence, but he at least hit the frame back on Pontefract on Monday.
He was beaten a fair way in third in a conditions event but he is just the type to turn up at decent odds.
