While you don't expect to see too many Cheltenham contenders between now and the start of the Festival, trainer Gary Moore surprisingly revealed that Sire De Grugy could go to Chepstow on Saturday for another prep run ahead of his Champion Chase defence.
Sire De Grugy's return to action for the first time this season didn't go according to plan when he never looked happy at Newbury last week, eventually parting ways with Jamie Moore at the third last fence.
His trainer said yesterday that the nine-year-old could go for a handicap chase on Saturday if he satisfies in a piece of work tomorrow and the ground is suitable.
"He needs racing and that's the idea. It's something I've got to mull over with Jamie and the owners, but he's a horse who can take it," he said.
