Cat Custom made for raid

THERE will be plenty of Irish interest at Epsom on Saturday, most notably in the Derby itself, but the two Aidan O'Brien challengers in the Oaks aren't our only involvement at the track tomorrow afternoon, writes Niall Cronin.

* Johnny Murtagh renews his associations with the likes of William Haggas and Harry Dunlop with a ride for each on the card, but George Kent's Custom Cat also makes the journey over to run in the Group Three Investec Diomed Stakes for the Waterford trainer.

* The four-year-old has been a great servant already for connections, winning four on the bounce in the space of six weeks last year and at odds of 25/1 he sprang a huge surprise already this term to win the Group Three Gladness Stakes at the Curragh.

* Again, Custom Cat belied his odds and apparent chance to run a blinder in the Amethyst Stakes at Leopardstown earlier this month and although there will be a few with more obvious chances tomorrow, he is again expected to put up a bold showing with Murtagh taking over from Ronan Whelan.
