Double world champion Niall McVeigh (pictured)was the only home winner at the inaugural Carlton Irish Para Badminton Open in Baldoyle.
In the SS men's final, he beat China's Chun Yim Wong 21-11, 21-11 in a match that proved more one-sided than expected.
"I enjoyed the match and felt I played well. I had thought I might struggle because I had a really tough semi-final that went to three games. He got in some good shots, but he can play better than he did today," said McVeigh.
With ranking points at stake, the inaugural Irish Para-Badminton Open had attracted top-class players from all over the world in all six classes.
McVeigh had paired up with Yim Wong for the doubles and the Irish/Chinese pair finished runners-up behind Krysten Coombs and Jack Shepard of England.
Other medals winners for Ireland were Laura Lee Jenkins, who took singles and doubles bronze, and Owen Casey, who paired up with David Jack Wilson from Wales to take doubles bronze.
