Hibs axe for Mulhall

IRISH hopeful Cody Mulhall is looking for a new club after being told he could leave Scottish side Hibernian.

Then manager Pat Fenlon fought off competition from other British clubs to land the Stella Maris lad three years ago, though his progress was held up by a cruciate injury. Mulhall returned to fitness earlier this season but the Edinburgh club have now released him. Dubliner Gareth McCaffrey, an U19 cap, has also been let go by Hibs.

Fenlon is an admirer of Mulhall and he could make a move to bring him to Shamrock Rovers.

Meanwhile, Bohemians boss Keith Long says that Irish U17 cap Robert Duggan, signed from Peterborough United, can make an impact this season.

"He is a young boy and I don't want to put too much pressure on him. Expectation levels need to be managed. They wanted him to stay at Peterborough - they didn't want him to leave. Darren Ferguson felt that in a year or two he would play in the first-team. We've got to manage that correctly," says Long.
