THE campaign to honour the legendary Kevin Heffernan is picking up pace.
Des O'Donnell is delighted. He spoke well on the subject at the Annual Convention.
"I'm thrilled with the feed-back. It would be tremendous to mark Kevin's remarkable contribution to Dublin GAA in an appropriate fashion," states Des.
"The achievements of this great Dublin GAA man should be celebrated.
"And even when he had long retired from Dublin, he was still taking out juvenile teams at St Vincent's.
"When he was managing Dublin, he was a senior executive in the ESB. He was subsequently appointed Head of the Labour Court and he was made a Freeman of the City.
"He was the only Dublin player to be selected on the Teams of the Century and the Millennium, not to mention leading Ireland to success in Australia.
"Kevin was such a special person. And he gave us some of the best days of our lives."
