Get over Euros

GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI has told Ireland's football fans to get over the disappointment felt after Ireland's Euro 2012 nightmare and move on."

After the first match against Kazakhstan and friendly against Oman we have overcome the disappointment of Euro 2012,” said Trap.

“I never want to hear again, disappointment, disappointment. It is over now and we don't need another excuse,” clearly irritated by what he feels is unnecessary navel gazing.

After many false dawns, it looks like Trapattoni is finally ready to make some changes to the way Ireland play against Germany. “Maybe we need another situation,” he said.

“We know their quality and their offensive potential. They are top of the group and one of the strongest teams in the world.

“I have to evaluate whether the Germans are so strong physically and decide if we have to focus on defence or whether we can adopt a different approach.”

Meanwhile Trapattoni had no new injury concerns this morning. Keeper Kieren Westwood sat out training, but did some gym work and is not a concern for Friday’s match.
