BALLYMUN KICKHAMS

THIS week's hero of the week is Sean 'Aussie' Tuke. The reason for which is posted below. Probably our most deserving ever. Our under 13's had a big win at the weekend, with the whole team performing superbly. Also, our 15's had a couple of inspired training sessions this week, and had Cameron McCormack put in a huge display for the Dublin 15's… But that's not where they excelled themselves. Along with the Under 16's, they performed an honour guard for the funeral of Sean 'Aussie' Tuke's mother. A fitting tribute. Sean then went out and played superbly for the Dublin under 14's on Saturday. Now you see why we made him our hero of the week. Bravery and great spirit. Well done Sean. The thoughts of the club are extended to all the Tuke/Lee family. The annual golf classic happens in Hollystown on Friday 29th August in Hollystown between 11am and 4 pm, with the cost of teams of 4 at €200 (including meals and prizes). Tee times were filled the last 2 years and are filling fast now. Please contact Declan at 0866015745 for more information. The club would like to offer best wishes and continued health to life long member and supporter, Frank Molloy, after a recent operation and illness and we extend our support to his family. THE Book on St Mary's Gaelic Football Club will be available to members and friends of the Club this October, following a launch date yet to be decided. Hundreds of photographs and scores of newspaper reports from the past 'hundred years or so' help to make this book a must-read for club members, friends, relatives, residents of the general area and anyone interested in how a small GAA club can become such an integral part of the community it lives in and from. The Book celebrates the story of the Club from its hesitant beginnings in 1906 to the successful and vibrant organisation it is today. The numerous achievements of the Club on the field and off the field are celebrated. The many contributions made by the Club to the villages of Saggart, Rathcoole and Brittas over the past century are highlighted, as is the part played by individuals, families and businesses of these three villages in sustaining the Club for over a century. St Mary's links with Commercials Hurling Club and St Finian's GAA Club also feature. Price: €20.
