TIPPERARY hurler James Woodlock has his sights set on a championship comeback from the horrific double broken leg he suffered in the Tipp county final back on October 18.
Woodlock, who captained Drom & Inch in the nine point defeat to Thurles Sarsfields before an accidental collision with Tipperary team-mate Pádraic Maher snapped both the tibia and fibula in his right leg.
Woodlock has been informed by medics that his leg will be fully healed by March when he will begin a lengthy period of rehabilitation. However, he is certain to miss all of Tipp's NHL Division 1 campaign but has earmarked their Munster title defence for a possible return.
"I can't rush this thing," Woodlock acknowledged. "I'm just looking forward to going back walking and I think I'm strong-minded enough to drive on from there.
"I'll be hoping to go on the training camp abroad with Tipperary in April; perhaps able to do some light work or something.
"Maybe that's ambitious. It's up to (physio) John Casey. Whatever he says, I'll go with. He'll put me through my paces once I go back and he said he'll work as hard as he can. After that, I don't know; I just want my leg to come back perfect first. I'll worry about hurling after that," he added.
