UCD's quick double breaks down Davis

A CRUMLIN cracker. UCD were made go the distance.

Thomas Davis played well. Very well. They were level for the fifth time with 10 minutes left. The tempo of the hour never dipped.

Two goals in a minute decided it. The first came from Ciaran Lyng in the 50th minute as he cut in along the left and drilled low to the right of the sack at the scoreboard end.

A rapid breakaway move then concluded with John O'Loughlin drilling under the slates -- 2-8 to 0-8. Davis' replied with a tidy Stephen McKeon penalty on 56 minutes. A goal in it. There was still Tallaght hope.

Two quick returns from Donie Kingston and Lyng extinguished the Kiltipper flames.

Thomas Davis led by 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time, the pick of their points coming from left half-back, Niall Brogan, a fabulous footballer.
