MONAGHAN footballer, Thomas Connolly, who was found to have committed an anti-doping violation has been banned for two years, the GAA and Irish Sports Council has announced.

The Latton clubman, who featured for the Farney County in this year's McKenna Cup, has been banned for two years, commencing March 18 last, subject to rights of appeal within 21 days.

Connolly was tested on February 13 and the sample tested positive for the presence of a prohibited substance, 3'-hydroxystanozolol glucuronide (Stanozolol).
