Tribe revamp for Cats clash

ANTHONY CUNNINGHAM has opted for major surgery after his Galway team plunged themselves into a relegation scrap with defeat to Waterford last weekend.

The Tribesmen could still finish second bottom and 'qualify' for the Division 1A relegation play-off with Dublin if they lose to Kilkenny in Nowlan Park on Sunday and the Déise beat Anthony Daly's men in Fraher Field and so Cunningham has elected to change a third of the team that lost a week ago.

Jamie Ryan replaces injured goalkeeper James Skehill, Tony óg Regan comes in at wing- back at Niall Donoghue's expense, Brian Flaherty comes into midfield with Andy Smyth moving forward and Joseph Cooney and Iarlaith Tannian are named in their attack with Conor Cooney and Bernard Burke making way.

OLLIE BAKER has resisted the temptation to call up any of his Coolderry contingent for Sunday's vital Division 1B duel with his native, Clare.

A win in O'Connor Park would virtually guarantee Offaly a spot in the Divisional final against the Banner - with a spot in Division 1A the prize for the victors.

But despite the loss of influential centre-back, Rory Hanniffy for six to eight weeks with a hand injury, Baker has left his pool of beaten All-Ireland club finalists untouched.

Instead, Barry Harding comes into the Faithful's half-back line while Ger Healion, Seán Ryan and Dermot Mooney replace Stephen Wynne, James Mulrooney and Colin Egan from the team which drew with Limerick a week ago.

TIPPERARY welcome back experience quartet Brendan Cummins, Paul Curran, Conor O'Mahony and John O'Brien for their clash with Cork in Thurles.

Out go Darren Gleeson, Conor O'Brien, John Coghlan and John O'Neill from the teams which started against Dublin in Croke Park last Saturday while Cork have decided to opt for the same 15 that ended Kilkenny's unbeaten start to 2012 in Páirc Uí Chaoimh last Sunday.
