Swan glides 'Knock to win

CASTLEKNOCK were crowned Dublin Féile na nGael Division 6 champions after accounting for Lucan Sarsfields by 4-7 to 1-1 in Somerton Park last Saturday.

The hosts dominated for the large part with Luke Swan amassing 2-5 from full-forward in what was an excellent team performance from the hosts.

The foundation for their success lay in a wonderful defensive display that restricted their opponents to just two scores over the 40 minutes with captain Conor Kelly leading the side superbly from the pivotal centre half-back position.

The Castleknock forward line also impressed with Eoin Egan landing a sublime '65' and their victory was assured through goals from substitutes Seán Clynes and Niall Dolphin.

Lucan battled gamely throughout with Finan Breen, Dean White, Cian Buckley, Jake Mooney and Luke Neville making valuable contributions.

"They haven't managed to win a league game all year so for the lads to enjoy a few wins and win the Féile is great for all involved with the team,"said Castleknock mentor Danny Kelly.
