THREE first-half goals helped St Vincent’s cruise to a comprehensive eleven point victory over St Patrick’s Palmerstown in the second part of the Dublin SFC double-header at Parnell Park last night.
The holders began brightly enough through points by Ciaran Dorney and Shane Carthy but St Pat’s bounced back well to level matters through two points by the lively Colm Driver.
However, Vinnies assumed complete control following Diarmuid Connolly’s 24th minute goal and further goals by Shane Carthy and Tomás Quinn ensured a 3-5 to 0-3 interval lead for the Marino men.
It proved a similar scenario of Vinnies dominance upon the restart with Albert Martin adding a brace of points as the half progressed as the county champions conceded a late goal to Driver four minutes from time.
