St Maur's can show Davis their promotion pedigree

Evening Herald Dublin SFC fourth round, Naomh Maur v Thomas Davis (Parnell Park, Tonight, 8.15)

THIS is a duel that could light up Donnycarney. Two sides that like to dance.

The Rush Revolution continues apace. A Division 1 address for the first time.

Maur's promotion has been in the tea leaves for a few years. They bring pride to the ship. They were all reared out by the sea.

Beating Na Fianna is a noble entry on the CV. The Glasnevin side troubled Brigid's the last day.

Maur's were eight points down at half-time. They had the wind in the second half but also bottle in their hearts.

Thomas Davis also have a proud entry in the diary -- a first-round victory over Ballyboden St Enda's.

The Kiltipper Kings were handsome enough winners over Pat's of Palmerstown in the third round, although it took a late enough goal from the classy Ciarán Farrelly to tighten the lid.

The Tallaght team have been down this road before. They contain abundant experience.

Peter Boland, Eoghan Behan, James O'Connor, Shane McGrath, Paul Hudson and the Kirbys bring quality to their work.

Maur's will enhance the top division. The Sweetmans and McGintys have given everything to the jersey.

And there's more than promise in the boots of Vinny Whelan, Chris Carty, Chris Moore, Mark McGrath, Conor McGuire, Danny Byrne and Ciarán Reddin.

Both clubs will be going for it from the off. Their motto has always been from the Robbie Williams School -- 'Let us entertain you'.

LAST YEAR - Maur's: 3rd round. Thomas Davis: 3rd round.

LAST TIME CHAMPS - Maur's: Never. Thomas Davis: 1991.

C'SHIP 2011 - Maur's: Beat Fingallians. Beat Na Fianna. Thomas Davis: Beat Ballyboden. Lost to Kilmacud. Beat St Patrick's (P).
