A dominant first-half showing saw St Jude's ease past St Mary's, Saggart by 3-20 to 0-8 in their Dublin SFC first round encounter in Bohernabreena last night.
Last year's semi-finalists raced into an early six-point lead thanks largely to Declan Donnelly's 9th minute goal while further scores from Colm Murphy and Darren Gallagher ensured a healthy 1-12 to 0-3 interval lead for Jude's.
Declan Donnelly continued to be a thorn in Marys' side after the break as he added points in addition to Kevin McManamon's early free and further daylight appeared between the sides when Tom Lahiff netted in the 43rd minute.
Ronan Joyce and Mark Sweeney heaped further misery on Mary's as the half progressed and a dominant Jude's added their third goal as Diarmuid McLoughlin reacted well to slot home, confirming a 21 point success.
Meanwhile in Balgriffin, it proved far more competitive with Skerries Harps doing just enough to see off a battling O'Toole's by 1-15 to 1-9.
Harps appeared to be cruising towards victory as they led by 1-6 to 0-1 after 12 minutes with Mark Boylan registering the Skerries goal.
However, a missed Harry Dawson penalty offered hope to the Larriers with Ciaran Kimmage's goal trimming O'Toole's arrears to 1-9 to 1-5 by the break.
Despite their lead falling to two points, Harps finished well through scores from Graham Cullen, Barry Davey and Bryan Cullen to secure the hard-fought win.
Dublin SFC: Skerries Harps 1-15 O'Toole's 1-9; St Jude's 3-20 St Mary's Saggart 0-8.
