Service to remember Fran

SEVEN years ago, Fran Leonard was playing for Erin's Isle against O'Dwyer's in the AFL Division 4 when he collapsed and died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Last Sunday, the two clubs came together again for their annual match to celebrate Fran's life. The inter footballers played a game, as did the club's juvenile teams.

Next Saturday, Fran's parents, Greg and Elsa, are holding a Healing Service to remember all young people who have died from SADS or any form of sudden death.

The service will take place at the St Alphonsus Monastery, Drumcondra (2pm). All are welcome. It will be carried live on the rednuns.com site. A room has been booked in the Maples Hotel down the road for a cup of tea.

If you are unable to attend, a candle can be lit in a person's honour. Contact Greg (086-1679778).

The leaflet for the Service is available from gregandelsaleonard@gmail.com or lebbs@cry.ie. The CRY foundation do such marvellous work. Click onto their site at www.cry.ie.
