Seánie case may be destined for DRA - McGeeney

KIERAN McGeeney has hinted that Seánie Johnston may take his protracted transfer case to the DRA if his appeal fails this week.

"The appeals thing usually gives the same decision as Croke Park," stated McGeeney. "The DRA at least is an independent body."

The Kildare manager is frustrated at the lack of movement on the case after Johnston was asked to provide proof of residence for his new home in the north of the county.

"People have their own opinion about it but he's given enough things," he added. "It's enough for the police, it's enough for the banks, it's enough for everybody else but not for the GAA. It's their call. The fella just wants to play football. It's very frustrating for him."

WATERFORD are primed to welcome star attacking duo John Mullane and Eoin Kelly back to their ranks over the coming days. The pair have been following individual training programmes and could come into contention for their Allianz Hurling League Division 1A encounter with Galway on March 25.

"Hopefully after next weekend (the game against Tipperary in Thurles) John will be back," confirmed Deise manager, Michael Ryan. "He's after having six weeks off and the bit of a break will do him good, but we're looking forward to having him back."

Another All Star, Noel Connors, may be out for the foreseeable future, however, with a disc problem in his back. Waterford lie rooted to the bottom of the Division along with Dublin after two defeats in two games and have been named favourites for relegation.
