JASON RYAN was last night ratified as Kildare senior football manager.

The Waterford native, who served as a selector under Kieran McGeeney last season, was elected on a three-year term with a review to take place after one year at Ryan's request.

Delegates from clubs heard that ten candidates had been considered, a number that was whittled down to three, each of whom held meetings with the executive.

Ryan has yet to appoint his selectors although club delegates at the meeting were informed that his intention was to recruit Kildare natives to make up his back-room team.
