Rooney pivotal as Parnell's put Kilmacud to the sword

PARNELL'S produced a strong display in accounting for KILMACUD CROKES 'B' 2-9 to 0-9 in their Dublin Senior 'B' Hurling Championship encounter at Silver Park last Saturday evening.

Darren Rooney offered a towering presence at centre-back for the visitors, who scored two first-half goals through Stephen Duffy and Lee Fogarty. Aodhán de Paor fought valiantly for Kilmacud.

At St Anne's Park, three goals from Seán Dempsey helped RAHENY get the better of ST MARK'S by 8-10 to 1-9.

Ger Sheehy, David Henry and Ger Coady all shone for the hosts while Stephen Kelly and Conor Henry added second-half goals, with Mark's heavily reliant on David O'Callaghan.

There was a tighter affair in Dolphin's Park as a late goal from Martin Kenny earned KEVIN'S a 1-13 to 2-10 draw against THOMAS DAVIS.

At Páirc Barróg, two penalties from Paul Garbutt helped secure a 4-9 to 3-6 win for NH BARRóG against ERIN'S ISLE with Barry Hehir and Colm Cleary grabbing the other goals for a home team that had positive contributions from Dean Flood, Niall Ring and Cian Gleeson.

Last night, BALLYBODEN SET ENDA'S 'B' enjoyed goals from Mick Griffin and Niall Ryan as they recorded a 2-8 to 0-4 win over NH OLAF in Páirc Uí Bhriain.
