PARNELL'S are preparing to welcome the Dubs … on the double.

PARNELL'S are preparing to welcome the Dubs … on the double.

The Coolock club are hosting the Dublin Bus/The Herald Dubs Stars spectacular on New Year's Day.

The Dublin hurlers, under new boss, Ger Cunningham, will play the Dubs Stars at 12.30.

And that will be immediately followed by Jim Gavin's Dubs tackling the footballing Dubs Stars. It will be a special occasion for the Dublin football captain and Parnell's man, Stephen Cluxton.

"It's a big event for the club and we are honoured to host it," says Parnell's Dave Feeney. "We have been working hard to make sure everything goes well on the day, and all the preparations are almost complete at this stage.

"There has been a lot of effort by all concerned in the club. There's big excitement in the area about the Dubs coming. We are expecting a big crowd. It's all systems go now. And we are all hoping the weather stays dry," added Dave.
