O'Toole's well set to raise 'Barr over rivals

O'TOOLE'S v NAOMH FIONNBARRA (Parnell Park, Tonight, 6.45)

THE Lordly Larriers are never far away from the hall door. And it will probably be the same this season.

They pack so much knowledge in the briefcase. Last year they were in the championship final.

They began well enough but, once Ballyboden got a grip, it was hard to curb the Firhouse flow.

The Cabra Colts were also on the stage on county final day. They brought home the Senior 'B' Championship title.

They won it in the most dramatic style on the line against St Patrick's of Palmerstown.

U21 Championship success also has come to The Bogies, so the spirits are upbeat.

Eamon Dillon is a gold Barr. So is Ger Dodrill and the Costellos. Fionnbarra have been working harder than ever.

This will be a big test. There's so many Ayrfield Aces -- the Cartons (including Peadar, pictured above), the Ryans, Ger O'Meara, Richie Walker, Philip Brennan, the Morris Dancers. You could go on ... and on.

O'Toole's have eight titles in the trophy cabinet on Blunden Drive. Their last success came in 2002.

They'll be looking to make a sharp start to business in Group D, where they are favoured to advance.

VERDICT: O'Toole's
