Moore lifts St Vincent's

SUBSTITUTE Stephen Moore kicked the critical winning score as ST VINCENT'S narrowly defeated ST SYLVESTER'S by 1-12 to 2-8 in their Dublin MFL Division 1 tie at Broomfield on Sunday morning.

The visitors put in a solid defensive display with goalkeeper Colm Carroll making two exceptional saves and with defenders Shane Ruane and Seamus Hannigan impressing, Greg Murphy kicked 1-3 in a pivotal contribution by the talented full-forward.

In Shankill, goals from Cillian Sheanon, Niall James and Dublin minor hurler of this year Seán Treacy helped CUALA record a hard-earned 3-11 to 2-7 victory over NH MEARNóG.

With Dublin minor dual player Con O'Callaghan selected in goals due to his exertions the previous day, Cuala still managed to claim the two points with centre-back Conor Murphy, Dylan Treacy and Seán Brennan all to the fore.

O'Callaghan's intercounty colleague Andy Foley produced a masterful midfield display when helping CLONTARF to comfortably overcome LUCAN SARSFIELDS by 2-16 to 1-10 in St Anne's Park.

Foley combined well with Kevin Mullins throughout, kicking two points and with Thomas Craddock, Conor McGinn and Seán Brodie showing strongly, the hosts kicked on through points from Cian O'Flaherty and Conor Mullins, in addition to 1-7 from full-forward Ross McCullough.

At Silver Park, two first-half goals from Aaron Byrne paved the way for NA FIANNA'S routine 4-10 to 0-8 victory over KILMACUD CROKES.

The foundation for the win was based on Na Fianna's solidity with goalkeeper Luke Carey saving a penalty while Dublin minor Eoin Murchan and Andy Baxter were the pick of the defenders while at the opposite end, Seamie O'Sullivan and Glenn Reilly shared seven points.

The remaining fixture saw BALLYBODEN ST ENDA'S register an emphatic 2-15 to 1-2 victory over CASTLEKNOCK at Páirc Uí Mhurchú with Colm Basquel, fresh from his contribution to Dublin's minors victory over Wexford in the Leinster MFC on Saturday, and Barra McGarry netting for the hosts.
