Meath goalkeeper Paddy O'Rourke has been subjected to sickening abuse online after today's Leinster semi-final defeat to Westmeath at Croke Park.
The defeat, which was Meath's first ever at the hands of their neighbours, saw O'Rourke receive his marching orders late on for a lunging tackle in second half injury time.
Meath had led by 10 points in the first half but their second half collapse saw them beaten as Westmeath, inspired by Kieran Martin and John Heslin prevailed.
In the aftermath of the game, Paddy O'Rourke began retweeting disgusting messages he had received.
One Twitter user threatened to knife the keeper who has represented Ireland in the International Rules Series and is a nephew of Meath great and Sunday Game analyst Colm.
