Mearnóg and Syls set to roll out red carpet for the Sevens

IT'S 7-ups all round at Naomh Mearnóg and St Sylvester's. Once again they will stage the annual All-Ireland Football Sevens next September.

It's a giant co-production. But this autumn comes a twist in the top. Included in the Sevens format will be a very special flavour.

To honour the anniversary of the 40th All-Ireland Ladies Football final, six county teams will take part in their very own Sevens event as part of the big day.

The Ladies Football Association has issued an invite to all interested parties. The players must be over 30 and have not played at inter-county level for the last five years.

It's the ideal chance for former players to lace up the boots again and meet old friends. And the opportunity is there to make a weekend of it and be in Croke Park on the following day.

The 'Masters' Sevens will see plenty of polish on the boots.

The Dubs could muster a mighty side.

Entries for this unique county Sevens tournament must come through a County Board to lynsavage@ladiesgaelic.ie before Friday, May 31st.
