Meaney calls time with Laois

gaelic games

FORMER Laois captain Kevin Meaney has quit the O'Moore county panel.

Tomás Ó Flatharta's team plunged to the bottom of Division 2 of the Allianz League with defeats to Westmeath and Cavan in their opening two games and with Meaney not part of the panel for the latter loss, it has since emerged that he has decided to leave the squad.

Already, Conor Meredith has opted out owing to his third level commitments while neither Craig Rogers or MJ Tierney are available for selection at present.

Laois will travel to table-toppers Galway in two Sunday's time, knowing a defeat would consign them to a relegation battle.
