McGeeney begins Armagh five-year term

KIERAN McGEENEY is officially the new Armagh senior football manager.

The former Kildare manager, who was part of this year's Orchard County management under Paul Grimley, has been confirmed for a term of five years.

McGeeney's appointment was unanimously ratified at a county board meeting last tonight.

"The County Board would like to express our best wishes to Kieran, his backroom team and to our senior team as they continue to build on their recent progress," said a statement from the Armagh county board.

"The County Board hope that under Kieran McGeeney's leadership this promising team can achieve the success yearned for by the county and its loyal supporters," concluded the statement.
