McCrabbe stars for impressive Craobh

CRAOBH CHIARáIN dominated from start to finish as they accounted for a lacklustre St Jude's by 1-15 to 1-6 in their Dublin AHL1 clash at Clonshaugh last night.

Alan McCrabbe was in sublime form for the hosts, claiming nine points over the hour and Craobh, despite playing against the breeze, led by 1-9 to 1-5 at the break with Ger Ennis grabbing their goal. It proved a similar tale of Chiaráin's dominance after the break with Stephen Chester, Gary Kelly, Damien O'Reilly and Robbie Mahon all making positive contributions as Craobh registered their first league win of the year.

At Páirc Naomh Uinsionn, Tomás McGrane struck eight points as St Vincent's proved far too strong for a weakened Ballyboden St Enda's, 1-20 to 0-7.

CARLOW'S U21 hurlers came within two points of causing a seismic upset in Dr Cullen Park last night, eventually losing to Kilkenny by 2-14 to 2-12 in the Leinster U21HC semi-final.

Goals from Ciarán Ryan and Liam Hickey eventually saw Kilkenny - who never trailed - safely into a Leinster semi-final on July 8, where they'll face provincial champions, Wexford.
