McCrabbe leads Craobh to win against depleted Cuala

ALAN McCRABBE struck 1-9 as Craobh Chiaráin comfortably overcame a depleted Cuala by 2-19 to 1-14 in their Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 encounter at Clonshaugh on Saturday.

Stephen McDonald and Darren Kelly both ventured forward from defence to land crucial scores and with Ger Ennis rock solid between the sticks, Craobh confirmed their victory through a second-half goal from substitute David Keane.

At Tymon Park, St Jude's withstood a brave second-half comeback from Faughs to claim a 2-15 to 2-10 win over their near neighbours.

The winners were buoyed by first-half goals from John Ryan and Joey McManus to lead by 2-7 to 0-3 at the the interval and they secured the win through the defensive efforts of Eoin McLoughlin and Stephen Larkin, while Sam Lehane and Tom Devlin shone in attack.

There was another away victory at Pearse Park as goals from the impressive Andrew Morris and Ciaran Kimmage helped O'Toole's get the better of Crumlin on a 2-16 to 2-9 scoreline.

Conor McStay impressed throughout at full-back for the Larriers and with Keith Horgan controlling affairs, the visitors pulled clear through points from Morris and the free-scoring Conor Carton.



At the 12th Lock, Mick May, Tommy Somers, John Byrne and Peter Carroll all made vital contributions as Lucan Sarsfields comfortably repelled Na Fianna by 0-19 to 1-6.

In AHL2, St Patrick's Palmerstown preserved their perfect start to date following their 2-16 to 2-11 win over Naomh Mearnóg in Portmarnock. Peter Keaney and the excellent Shane Stapleton netted for the visitors and with Kevin Ward, Darren Mooney and Noel Sweeney to the fore, St Pat's confirmed their sixth successive league win.
