TWO years a Dub - one All-Ireland medal and one All Star already bagged. Yet it will take a while before Michael Darragh Macauley shakes off the "unbelievable" jibes.
His post-match interview with Marty Morrissey is already the stuff of legend and the powerhouse Ballyboden midfielder admitted yesterday: "I still get a bit of grief pretty much everywhere I go!"
Naturally, he remembers little of the interview, coming as it did so quick after the final whistle, but he got a chance to watch it back recently and the memories returned.
To add salt to the wounds, Morrissey reminded everyone at the recent All Stars banquet when Macauley went up to collect his personal gong. "We watched it once as a team in Vincent's," he revealed. "We all sat around and the abuse I got. We even counted it, was it seven or eight?
"Marty really caught me on the hop that day. He caught me again at the All Stars. I was playing a celebrity match against him in Croke Park last Thursday and Marty was actually playing in it. I was dying to get him with a tackle but he went in goal so I couldn't really get my hands on him.
"So Marty, if you're out there, I'm looking for you!"
