Lucan look all set to ground Ravens' flight

RAVENS went through the mixer on Tuesday night. The depth of their resolve was tested deep in the North County.

They came through all the Garristown questions Naomh Maur asked of them, but it was far from a moonlight stroll.

Martin Flanagan was immense at midfield. Joey Morris got on the end of some crucial breaking ball, while Ian Kavanagh's right peg kept on opening the milk cartons.

In the end it was the class finishing of Niall Tormey and Warren Finnegan that allowed Deego to enjoy his cocoa.

Lucan's quick-silver passing will have Fingal putting in the hard yards again. Lucan and Ravens are two clubs who hate giving the ball away.

"Keep it simple," roared Deego the other night. Mick Bohan reads from the same footballing bible -- keep the ball moving and cut out unforced errors.

Lucan don't lack calibre. There's the Caseys, Gallaghers and O'Neills. Ciarán O'Neill and Tommy Brennan put it in against Raheny.

On the banks of the Griffeen, there's only one John Doyle. The football will flow but Lucan's look to have a more assured look to them.
