THEY'LL be playing for the Biddy Phillips Cup next Saturday. Biddy, from Tipp, was a first lady of camogie.
The third Legends tournament will take place at the Clonshaugh home of Craobh Chiaráin. Nine counties have signed up – Wexford, Kilkenny, Galway, Clare, Tipperary, Cork, Armagh, Offaly and Dublin.
Lining out for the Dubs will be the likes of Patsy Murphy, Carmel O'Byrne, Clare Donohoe, Fiona Ní Chorcorain and Síle Nic Coitir.
"We have assembled a nice mix in the squad. Patsy Murphy has been busy making the calls," explains Eve Talbot.
Saturday will be a busy day for all concerned. "We are delighted to be playing the competition at Craobh Chiaráin because it is only down the road from Croke Park where the All-Ireland Club Camogie final between Killimor (Galway) and Milford (Cork) is on at 5pm.
"The winners of the Legends tournament will be presented with the Biddy Phillips Cup at half-time in the club All-Ireland. That's a nice touch. Then the Dublin footballers will be playing Mayo.
"The competition gives people the chance to put on the boots again and have a bit of fun. Our aim is to keep women involved in camogie. It's not that easy for them with family commitments, et cetera."
The Craobh sod is one of the best in the country, and there's a spacious clubhouse at the venue, which is very convenient to the M50.
There is no guarantee that Dublin will be Legends champions.
But if there was a category for Best Dressed Team, there would be no contest.
County chairman, Pat Martin, is providing the clobber.
