Larkin's back in business

Eoin Larkin has forced his way into the starting line-up for tomorrow's Leinster senior hurling final but otherwise, Brian Cody has not altered his Kilkenny side for the clash with Galway.

Former Hurler of the YearLarkin came off the bench for Richie Hogan in the Cats' semi-final rout of Dublin and has now kept Hogan off the starting team. However, there's no starting spot for Adrian Fogarty, who also impressed when introduced last time out.

Kilkenny's backs and midfield remain unchanged, which means veteran Noel Hickey will face off against Joe Canning.

But up front there are a variety of notable positional switches, which look designed to disrupt Galway's strong half-back line.

TJ Reid is selected at right-half forward and Eddie Brennan at centre-forward, with Larkin on the other wing. Henry Shefflin is picked at left corner-forward.

This will be a first meeting of Kilkenny and Galway in a Leinster final but the Cats, chasing an unprecedented six Leinster titles in a row, feature 12 of the side who beat Galway in last year's semi-final. Hickey, Reid and Brian Hogan are the three changes.

KILKENNY: PJ Ryan; J Dalton, N Hickey, J Tyrrell; T Walsh, B Hogan, JJ Delaney; M Rice, M Fennelly; TJ Reid, E Brennan, E Larkin; M Comerford, R Power, Henry Shefflin.
