Kildare could have 'Kerry' on jersey

KILDARE'S search for a new shirt sponsor could lead to having another county's name emblazoned across their chest.

County board chairman John McMahon revealed that Kerry Group are one of the companies being looked at as a potential replacement for Tegral, who announced an end to their association with the Lilywhites earlier this week.

The company already sponsor Kerry but have announced a huge expansion in Kildare which will result in the creation of over 900 jobs and with the county finances in dire need of a monetary lift, any and all suitors are being considered.

"It (Kerry Group) has certainly been talked about," McMahon revealed. "They have made a great announcement for Kildare. We do know they sponsor our rivals in the Munster area, Kerry. There are probably more ways to skin the cat and that is an avenue that we will certainly be pursuing."

Tegral's withdrawal could not have come at a worse time for Kildare, who are looking to make €300,000 worth of cuts to their expenditure next year.
