The rain got heavier throughout the game. Ballymun led by six points to no score as they sipped their Bovril.
Pat's created some openings in the first period. The Mun completely dominated the second. Conor Weir and Shane Forde helped themselves to goals. But the best strike of all came from Jason Whelan on the hour as his left-footer to the top-right hand corner had the raindrops dancing.
The Palmerstown point was the last score of the tie. It came from an Aidan Glennon free. It brought a big cheer from the terrace.
